Casa de Loro
Perfectly flash fried pockets of love.
Inside the bright blue food trolley parked off Tamiami Trail in East Naples, you’ll find Argentine street food at its best with owners Alejo and Samantha proudly serving up their homemade fried empanadas and choripanes sandwiches to those who know about the secret that’s hiding inside the still-running tram.
There’s no shortage of options for your empanadas fillings, unless you’re one of the unlucky ones who arrives after they sell out of some of their more popular options. We were some of the luckier ones and picked out the beef and chicken, portobello and shitaki mushroom, and sweet corn and mozzarella empanadas to bite into. And one bite was all it took to have us wondering just how they made these perfectly flash fried pockets of love.
The choripan sandwich, made with a fresh-baked bun, Argentine sausage and chimichurri easily rose the ranks to one of our more memorable sandwich experiences. Pro-tip: grab one to share in between empanadas.
You can also find them serving up their food at the 3rd Street South Farmers Market!
